Locum Senior Commercial Lawyer – Midlands – Predominantly Remote Working – Full Time – Initial 3 months+ – Up to £60 per hour umbrella Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established legal team handling a varied and interesting commercial caseload within Local Government.
Role DetailsWorking Arrangement: Full-time, predominantly remote working with occasional office attendance preferred
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Contract Length: Initial 3 months+
Start: As soon as possible
Role Responsibilities:- Providing legal advice on a broad range of commercial, procurement and construction matters on behalf of the Council
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of contractual agreements and settlements
- Advising on procurement, contracts, partnerships and wider commercial projects
- Handling a range of agreements including G-Cloud contracts, inter-authority agreements, partnership agreements and subsidy control agreements
- Advising various stakeholders including charities, companies, and Council members and officers
- Supporting clients with pragmatic and solution-focused commercial legal advice
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience in Commercial Contracts and Procurement Law
- Previous Local Government experience is highly desirable
- Experience handling a varied commercial caseload including procurement and contractual matters
- Ability to work independently and manage complex matters effectively
