Job Description:

Legal Assistant – 12 months temporary contract Full Time – Up to £18-£20 per hour – Midlands
 
Venn Group are supporting a well-regarded Local Authority in the West Midlands with the recruitment of a Legal Assistant to join their Childcare, Adult and Education Team within Legal Services.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator to join a busy, supportive team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across Legal Services
  • Maintain accurate electronic and manual records, including legal files and case management systems
  • Coordinate diaries, arrange meetings and take clear, concise minutes
  • Act as a first point of contact, handling incoming enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Support financial processes, including raising orders and processing invoices via finance systems
  • Monitor transactions, maintain records (including petty cash, inventories and stock levels) and escalate discrepancies
  • Assist with file audits, document preparation and general office administration
About You:
  • Previous experience working in administration role within a Legal Office environment (this can be a Local Authority, Law Firm or In-house Legal Team)
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working with financial data and following processes
  • Ability to manage workload independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems
