Locum Education Lawyer
Up to £65 per hour umbrella DOE
Fully Remote
North-West Councils
3 months initially, with a very high likelihood of extension
Full or Part Time considered
 
Venn Group are working with two established teams within North-West Councils in their search for an Education Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month period.
 
Requirements:
  • Specialism within Education, specifically SEND and evidence of practising this post-qualification
  • Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation
  • A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor or Barrister
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Providing legal advice to the council's Education Department on all aspects of education law and practice with a focus on Judicial Review challenges in respect of Special Educational Needs provision, including funding challenges
  • Drafting legal responses as appropriate
  • Attend tribunals and hearings on behalf of the Borough as appropriate
