Senior Legal Adviser – Public Sector Organisation – South West – 12 Month FTC
 
Venn Group is pleased to be partnering with a public sector organisation which is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join its in-house legal team.

This is a full-time position for a fixed term of 12 months, starting as soon as possible. It will involve providing expert legal advice on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. Our client operates a hybrid working business model and the successful candidate will be required to attend the office in Bristol or London twice per week.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 3 years’ PQE. Whilst experience in higher education and/or central government would be advantageous, candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds with relevant regulatory and public law experience will be considered.
 
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the Legal Senior Leadership Team in tasks relating to the operation of the legal function and leadership of specific initiatives
  • Providing legal advice and support for a broad range of regulatory matters relevant to the functions of the organisation
  • Working collaboratively with internal legal and policy colleagues, as well as external legal support, owning these key relationships and advising at the most senior level in the organisation
  • Managing junior colleagues in the provision of legal complex legal advice in a range of areas, including the organisation’s enforcement and information gathering powers; public law principles, statutory duties and considerations; equalities legislation; Human rights law and consumer protection law
An annual salary of between £68,720 - £72,004 plus an allowance of £7,500 is offered dependent on experience, with an additional weighting allowance of £3,566 awarded if the successful applicant is London-based.
