A local authority in the South East is looking to appoint an experienced Governance Solicitor on a locum basis.

This is a fully remote role offering a long-term 9-month contract with an immediate start available.

The Role:
You will support the legal team on a range of governance matters, providing clear and pragmatic advice to members and senior officers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advising on constitutional and governance issues
• Supporting committee services and decision-making processes
• Providing guidance on member conduct and standards
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Barrister
• Strong experience in local authority governance work
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Availability to start at short notice
