Job Description:

Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer (with management responsibility)

We are seeking an experienced adult social care lawyer to join a busy Local Authority legal team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied and meaningful caseload whilst also managing to a small, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of Adult Social Care matters, including:

  • Court of Protection proceedings
  • Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) matters
  • Nearest Relative issues
  • Judicial Review cases
  • Providing high-quality, timely legal advice to internal stakeholders
  • Represent the Local Authority in court and at hearings where required
  • Managing a small team of lawyers and paralegals

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate
  • Demonstrable experience in Adult Social Care law ideally within a Local Authority setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Court of Protection and related legislation
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and case management skills
