Childcare Advocate & Childcare Lawyer (Locum - 2 Roles Available)
East Midlands (Court attendance required)
Full-time, Locum


A well-regarded local authority in the East Midlands is seeking to appoint two experienced childcare professionals on a locum basis: a dedicated Childcare Advocate and a Childcare Lawyer. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive legal team, with a strong focus on public law childcare work.

Main Responsibilities of Childcare Advocate:
- Attend court in person to represent the local authority in childcare proceedings
- Conduct advocacy at all stages of care proceedings
- Liaise with solicitors, social workers, and other professionals
- Support the legal team with casework during quieter court periods

Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with rights of audience
- Strong advocacy experience in childcare law
- Confidence in managing hearings independently



Main Responsibilities of Childcare Lawyer
- Manage a caseload of childcare matters
- Conduct advocacy in court as and when required
- Draft legal documentation and ensure cases progress efficiently

Requirements of both:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive
- Proven experience in childcare law ideally within a local authority setting
