Locum Property Lawyer - South West - 3 months + - Full Time - Hybrid or Remote Working - £50 UmbrellaVenn Group's specialist public sector legal team is pleased to be assisting a local authority in the South West which is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Property Lawyer to join its team.
This is a full-time position for an initial duration of 3 months, subject to extension thereafter. It would best suit a newly-qualified Lawyer (Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive) who is keen to gain experience within a supportive and friendly local authority department. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to attend the office up to every 2 weeks, though the client will consider fully remote applicants who possess relevant experience.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
1. Drafting and negotiate contracts for sale, transfer deeds, leases, licences, highways agreements and applications, deputy sales and other relevant documents on behalf of the Council
2. Providing advice to the Council, schools, county farms and other organisations on property transactions and a wide range of property and highways related queries
3. Responding to members of the public on property and highways related queries
4. Providing specialist assistance and support to senior team members on complex property and highways transactions
5. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and colleagues across the Council
An hourly rate of approximately £50 via umbrella is available for this role.
