Locum Senior Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Remote Working – Full Time– Initial 3 months+ – Up to £60 per hour umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain further experience within an established Local Authority.

Role Details
Working Arrangement: Full-time, Hybrid working
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Start: As soon as possible
Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing legal support across the Council's commercial, procurement and funding activities
• Supporting Council teams on complex commercial relationships and contract management matters, including NDAs, grants, novations, variations, extensions, liability issues, and performance management queries
• Acting as legal lead on high-value and high-risk projects, operating as the intelligent client to protect the Council's position and ensure compliance with the Council's Constitution and deleted authority framework

 
Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience in Commercial and Procurement Law
• Experience within Local Government or the public sector is highly desirable

• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of Commercial matters
