Legal Assistant – ASAP Start – Midlands Council  –  £20–£30 per hour – Part-Time – Initial 3 Months+

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join a friendly, small Midlands based Local Authority on an initial 3 month contract. This is a part-time opportunity to support Legal team with a range of administrative and transactional work.

The role will involve providing hands-on support to senior members of the team, assisting with Land Registry applications, Tree Preservation Orders and general legal administration. The successful candidate will also support the Solicitors in the team with case preparation and bundling. Office attendance will be required 1–2 days per week, ideally on a Monday or Thursday, to work alongside the existing Legal Assistant.

The Role:
Position: Legal Assistant
Duration: Initial 3 months, with the possibility of extension
Rate: £20–£30 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Part-time, 3–4 days per week
Location: Hybrid working in the Midlands, with 1–2 days per week in the office

Key Responsibilities:
• Providing administrative and legal support to the Property, Planning and Litigation Solicitors
• Preparing and organising legal bundles for hearings and transactions
Opening and closing IKEN files
• Assisting with Land Registry applications and Tree Preservation Orders
• General office-based duties including scanning and document management
 
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience working as a Legal Assistant within a Local Authority setting
• Experience using IKEN case management system is preferable
• Experience preparing bundles and supporting Solicitors with their administrative tasks
• Able to work collaboratively whilst supporting a busy legal team
