Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Part Time (30 hours per week) – Up to £65 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Initial 3+ months
 
Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a reputable and friendly Local Authority.
 
The Role:
Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3+ months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Part Time – 30 hours per week, remote working
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting with grant funding agreements and contracts for services alongside subsidy control matters
• Advising on Major Projects and complex contractual arrangements
• Providing advice on the Procurement Act 2023 and procurement-related matters
• Advising on Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR issues arising from contractual work
• Ensuring compliance with internal governance and authority procedures
• Supporting adult education projects and drafting consultancy agreements
 
Ideal Candidate:
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent public sector or local government experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, procurement, and governance
• Experience advising on grant funding and public sector projects
• Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
