£42,839 - £47,181 per annum
An attraction supplement subject to skills and experience, of up to 15% of the annual gross salary for a period of up to 2 years may be considered.
Are you a qualified lawyer looking for a varied caseload that has a real impact on people’s lives? This is a great opportunity to join Lincolnshire County Council’s friendly and supportive Adult Care legal team, who are passionate about delivering high quality legal advice to their clients.
The role
We are looking for a confident and motivated lawyer to join our team of lawyers and legal officers in the Adult Care legal team. As a key member of the team you will:
- Provide high quality legal advice and support on a broad range of adult care legal matters, covering the full spectrum of adult community care law
- Conduct Court of Protection proceedings on behalf of the Council
- Work closely with Adult Social Care colleagues on often sensitive and complex cases
- Help the service navigate upcoming changes in this fast moving and developing area of law

About you
You will be a qualified:
- Solicitor,
- Barrister, or
- Chartered Legal Executive
and authorised to conduct litigation under the Legal Services Act 2007.
You will also bring:
- An understanding and working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other associated adult social care legislation
- Experience of conducting Court of Protection proceedings
- Confidence in undertaking advocacy, or a willingness to develop this further in the role
- Experience of handling a busy and varied caseload
- Good communication and IT skills
- A collaborative, team focused approach, with strong problem solving skills and a good sense of humour
