Locum Senior Planning Lawyer – South East Council – Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Up to 12 Months
Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Senior Planning Lawyer to join a South East based Local Authority. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning lawyer to support a busy legal team on a long-term assignment.
The Role:
Position: Locum Senior Planning Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3–6 months, with a likely extension up to 12 months
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella (flexibility for the right candidate)
Working Pattern: Full time preferred, with a minimum of 25 hours per week considered
Working Arrangements: Remote working, with attendance at monthly team days desirable but non-essential
Duties will include:
• Advising on large-scale development and infrastructure planning agreements
• Drafting and negotiating highways agreements
• Providing advice on complex development management matters
• Supporting the Council on a range of strategic and high-value planning issues
Ideal Candidate:
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE
• Operating at Senior or Principal Lawyer level
• Strong experience within a Local Authority or public sector setting is desirable however candidates from a Private Practice background will also be considered
• Confident advising on complex and high-profile planning matters
