Principal Property Lawyer - Manchester (Local Authority role)

Contract role

35 hours per week

Role due to current staff member retiring. Opportunity to get involved in great quality development work for high profile Councils.

The Property Team sits within the Regeneration Group, which includes the Planning and Highways team and the Commercial team. It receives a high number of instructions. It has also continued to undertake work of increasing levels of complexity and value, often multi million pound and multi phased development transactions, frequently involving cross team working with experts in other fields across the Regeneration Group, such as planning, commercial (finance, funding and subsidy) and construction. This means that it can provide support to colleagues and clients equivalent to some of the larger firms of solicitors.

In addition to primarily supporting the Council, the Legal Property team provides full service legal advice to Salford City Council, as well as operating an arrangement with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, registered housing providers, schools (including Academies), Bury MBC, and other public sector bodies for the delivery of legal services.   All services to other public bodies and third parties attract fees to cover the work delivered and to promote income generation.
