Senior Lawyer - Contracts
Haringey, London (Local Authority role)
Initial 3-6 month contract
Rate: Negotiable (Umbrella)
36 hours per week
The senior contracts lawyer will be required to provide advice on a mixed caseload and lead on a range of diverse and complex matters including JCT and NEC construction contracts, contractual disputes, subsidy control and public procurement.
The ability to work on a full and varied caseload is essential. Candidates with relevant experience from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply. Candidates with private sector experience must have a solid understanding of how local authorities operate and demonstrate their ability to transfer knowledge and skills to successfully deliver a service within a local government context.
As an experienced contracts lawyer, you will have a sound understanding and extensive experience of drafting, procurement regulations and statutory processes relevant to local government.
You will be a strong team player, able to play an effective influencing role in project teams, with enthusiasm for delivering on projects.
The post holder will also support the Principal Lawyer and deputise in the absence of the Principal Lawyer.
