Job Description:

Paralegal - Property Team (SC Cleared)

Government Legal Department

Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Bristol - hybrid (office working, 3 days a week)
Pay Rate: Circa £18 per hour Umbrella

 

Need Active SC Clearance

The post is a hybrid role of paralegal and exec assistant, essential criteria would be organisational skills – ability to manage and prioritise a constantly changing workload whilst supporting a senior lawyer; an ability to create/maintain clear and effective filing systems; and legal research.

 

 

The main activities are likely to include:

  • Providing support to the Deputy Director leading the team;
  • Providing legal support to lawyers to help them build and maintain good relationships with clients;
  • Playing an active role in legal awareness for clients;
  • Carrying out legal research, presenting results and using it to inform notes or first drafts of advice;
  • Planning and implementing legal projects for the team, including providing process updates;
  • Making effective use of information and case management/filing systems (whether electronic or hard copy), including storing and
    retrieving information;
  • Collating and disseminating legal know-how and updates from a range of sources;
  • Assisting with management of Knowledge Management (KM) for the Division, including ensuring that the Division’s knowledge is well
    maintained and easily accessible, supporting the Division’s contribution to GLD’s KM activities;
  • Assisting in reviewing and proof reading various legal documents;
  • Helping maintain and organise files and documents;
  • Summarising documents;
  • Acting as a point of contact between clients, colleagues, and external lawyers;
  • Helping manage and track any deadlines;
  • Assist with providing general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes from meetings, filing and managing
    calendars;
  • Assisting with delivering client training and preparing presentations;
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the legal team.
