Job Description:

Locum Debt Recovery Lawyer or Legal Officer – up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Full Time – North – 3 months +

Position: Locum Debt Recovery Lawyer/Legal Officer
Organisation: Local Authority in the North
Duration: 3 months initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours)
Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working – attending office on occasion is desirable, but not essential
Hourly Rate: DOE
Skill level: Qualified Lawyers, NQ Lawyers and experienced Legal Officers (non-qual) are encouraged to apply
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a Local Authority with a strong working knowledge and experience of Debt Recovery matters.
 
Duties may include:
  • Providing Debt Recovery advice as required and managing a full and varied case load of these types of Debt - including Adult Social Care matters
  • Completing Debt Recovery negotiations in a wide range of highly complex statutory Debt Recovery cases
  • Issuing court proceedings to recover Debts, drafting court documents and undertaking enforcement proceedings against judgment debtors
