Locum Principal Property Lawyer – Public Sector Organisation – Up to £60 per hour Umbrella – Initial 6 months+ – Remote Working An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Locum Principal Property Lawyer to join a respected public sector organisation in the East of England. This is a fantastic role for an individual with strong expertise in commercial property law and the ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
Location: East of England
Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Full-time (37 hours) or Part-time (minimum 30 hours)
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver expert legal advice on commercial property matters, as well as other corporate, constitutional, or administrative legal issues.
- Manage a challenging caseload, providing high-quality, well-researched legal support to senior stakeholders, including Directors and Elected Members.
- Represent the organisation in negotiations with external parties on commercial property issues.
- Advise and support Council Committees and internal directorates as required.
- Oversee and manage external legal service providers, ensuring value for money and high-quality service delivery.
- Lead on service development initiatives, enhancing legal services to better meet client needs.
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation, ensuring client-focused service delivery.
- Actively contribute to business development efforts to raise the profile of the legal team and its services.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Demonstrable experience in commercial property law within a public sector or comparable environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to handle complex caseloads to tight deadlines.
- Experience managing and supervising external legal partners.
