Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – Full Time – Up to £55 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Initial 3+ months – Midlands Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment. The role offers remote working arrangements and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to support a busy legal team.
The Role:Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £55 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Full Time
Key Responsibilities: • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements
• Advising on procurement matters in line with public sector requirements
• Supporting with framework agreements, service contracts, and funding agreements
• Advising internal departments on contract procedure rules and governance processes
• Providing general commercial and contractual advice to support day-to-day operations
Ideal Candidate:• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent local government or public sector experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial and procurement law
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
