Reed Legal is working in partnership with a dynamic and forward-thinking public sector organisation in Yorkshire to recruit a
Locum Commercial and Procurement Lawyer for a long-term assignment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact regional projects while enjoying the flexibility of remote working.
The RoleYou’ll be joining a collaborative legal team, providing expert advice on a wide range of commercial and procurement matters. The work is varied and stimulating, involving major infrastructure, regeneration, and technology projects.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting complex, high-value commercial contracts across sectors including construction, transport, IT, energy, and consultancy
- Advising on public procurement regulations and ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks
- Supporting contract dispute resolution and risk management
- Working closely with commercial teams to shape procurement strategies
Candidate ProfileWe’re seeking a qualified solicitor or legal executive with:
- 5+ years PQE in commercial contracts and procurement law
- Experience in the public sector is desirable, but candidates from private practice with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply
- Strong drafting and advisory skills, with the ability to manage complex legal issues
