Litigation Lawyer

Rochdale (Local Authority role)

Initial 3-6 month contract

Rate: Negotiable, umbrella

37 hours per week

Remote working is fine but there may be occasions where office attendance is required - although office attendance on day 1 is mandatory to collect IT equipment.

The role is for a full time litigation lawyer. The work will include ( non exhaustively ) complex Adult social care debts,  licensing, environmental, enforcement and education, Judicial review on various matters along with potential supervision of 2 Legal Assistants dealing with simpler files. 

There may be some Housing Policy advice although the Council does not hold it's own Housing stock. 

Some property litigation may be required along with general civil lit.

Trading standards work is primarily undertaken externally but there may be a requirement to oversee instructions or occasional case involvement 

Court attendance is currently required infrequently but may occur

Candidate needs to make themselves available October 6th-10th for online handover meeting.
