Locum Housing Disrepair Solicitor – Local Authority (East Midlands)
Rate: £55–£60 per hour (DOE)
Location: East Midlands (Fully Remote)
Contract Length: 3–6 months initial (likely extension)
Start Date: ASAP / Within 4 weeks

Vivid Resourcing are working with a Local Authority in the East Midlands who are seeking an experienced Locum Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join their legal team on a fully remote basis.

This role offers the opportunity to handle a varied and manageable caseload of housing disrepair matters, working alongside an established and supportive team. The position is ideally suited to someone with solid local government or housing litigation experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Managing a full caseload of housing disrepair claims, including pre-action protocol, litigation, and settlement.

• Drafting pleadings, defences, and witness statements.

• Providing legal advice to client departments and housing officers.

• Liaising with external parties including claimants, counsel, and contractors.

• Ensuring all work complies with relevant procedures and timescales.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent).

• Proven experience handling housing disrepair litigation within a local authority or similar setting.

• Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.

• Available to start within the next 4 weeks.
