£44,075 - £51,356 per year with market supplement of £7,703 reviewable annually

Full time with a range of flexibilities, including hybrid working, aligned to our Worksmart arrangements

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement lawyer to work within our dedicated Legal team advising, drafting, negotiating and completing legal documents relating to contract law to include grant agreements, funding and management agreements, facility agreements, terms and conditions of business, amendments to standard JCT contracts, contractual arrangements for the delivery of major projects/services, and contract/procurement work. You will also be responsible for reviewing the Council’s contract standing orders and provision of legal support for the Council’s procurement officer as lead practitioner for contracts and procurement.

About you
You will be qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with experience in providing advice in respect of a wide range of contracts and procurement matters. You’ll be a confident and organised individual, with the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and to work with colleagues within the Legal team and across the Council. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team as well as have good attention to detail.
