Locum Highways Solicitor – North West Local Authority
12-Month Contract | Excellent Rate | Remote Working Available

We are working with a well-regarded Local Authority in the North West who are seeking the support of an experienced Locum Highways Solicitor to join their legal team.

The Role

• Advise on all aspects of highways law including agreements, traffic regulation orders, and rights of way

• Draft, review, and negotiate highways-related agreements (including s38, s278, and s106)

• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to officers and elected members

• Support ongoing projects, regeneration schemes, and infrastructure developments

• Manage your own caseload with minimal supervision

Key Details

• Contract Length: 12 months

• Start Date: Within the next 5 weeks

• Working Pattern: Full-time preferred (part-time considered)

• Location: North West (remote working available with occasional office attendance)

• Rate: Highly competitive / great hourly rate

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with proven experience in highways law

• Previous local government or public sector experience highly desirable

• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality advice under time pressure
