SEND Senior Lawyer Advocate
Merton, London (Local Authority)
Contract initially until March 2026
Rate: Umbrella, negotiable

We require 2 x 30 hour a week posts to be filled.

These are for candidates that specialise in SEND law only. Not looking for candidates that do general education law only.

This role can be 100% remote.

The exact working days and times can be discussed and agreed as part of the interview process - ideally though we do want candidates that would be prepared to work on at least one of the trickier Monday/Friday days.

• Be a lead in providing high quality legal services in the areas of Special Educational Needs law.
• An ability to acquire and maintain knowledge in relation to Education law.
• Undertake advocacy and represent the Council in the Court arena.
• To represent Legal Services, the Council and external clients in meetings, including committee and member meetings, inquiries and working groups and in discussions with other legal practitioners at an appropriate level as and when required
• Contribute to the development and delivery of legal services
