What You’ll Be Doing 
Join Camden's dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk-aware approach. You'll engage with senior officers and Members to offer high-quality legal services, with a focus on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, all while managing a personal caseload that includes high-profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem solver as you contribute to Camden's vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with experience in planning law and local government law. You should have hands-on experience in preparing cases and drafting legal documents, demonstrating confidence in leading challenging cases and providing high-level advice. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for engaging with clients and stakeholders. 

You must be skilled in drafting Section 106 Agreements and negotiating Agreements, Unilateral Undertakings, and Licenses. Additionally, you should excel in managing planning inquiries, appeals, judicial reviews, and injunctions, providing comprehensive advice both in writing and verbally. Proficiency in drafting highway documents (s177 licenses and s278/s38 Agreements) and advising on highway matters is also required. 

Familiarity with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and compliance requirements for relevant regulators is necessary, along with a general knowledge of local government law as it pertains to planning.
