Job Description:

Locum Legal Practice Manager – South East – Full Time – Hybrid – 3–6 months+

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a well-regarded Local Authority who are seeking a Locum Legal Practice Manager to support them on an interim basis. This is a key opportunity for an experienced professional to assist with pivotal improvement projects within a public sector legal service.

Assignment Details:
Rate: Up to £450 per day Umbrella
Working Arrangement: Full time preferred, though part-time candidates may also be considered. Hybrid working with some weekly on-site presence required.
Duration: Initial 3–6 months, with strong potential for extension

Key Focus Areas:
• Supporting the legal service’s preparation for Lexcel accreditation
• Leading the successful implementation of a new legal case management system
• Overseeing and improving internal systems, workflows, and compliance processes
• Reviewing and embedding policies and procedures aligned with regulatory frameworks (SRA and Lexcel)
• Collaborating with the IT and project teams to ensure smooth system integration and user adoption
• Supporting the Head of Legal with operational oversight and business planning
• Conducting risk management reviews and overseeing quality assurance activities such as file audits and conflict checks
• Providing input into client care and complaints procedures
• Producing reports for leadership and contributing to service-wide improvements

This role is well-suited to a Practice Manager with experience in either private practice or public sector legal teams, and a track record of driving compliance and operational excellence. Previous experience with Lexcel and implementing new case management systems is highly desirable.
