Job Description:

Civil Solicitor

Greater Manchester (Police role)

Contract initally until March 2026

Rate: Negotiable, Umbrella

 

36 hours per week

 

The role is not particularly for a civil solicitor and would be more slanted towards a solicitor with a criminal background  in most probability. It will be attending at the Magistrates Court to deal with civil orders on a regular basis, most probably at least a few days a week. Then also attending at the Family Courts to deal with disclosure applications and also to deal with advice on various areas.

 

Therefore the skill set is:

  1. Advocate in Magistrates/family court and other tribunals HRA would also be good if possible.

  2. Law research and present findings to police officers to assist them.

  3. File building and management of files.
