Employment Lawyer on a
locum basis for an initial 3 month role.
Details:- Job Title: Locum Employment Lawyer
- Hourly Rate: £55 per hour Umbrella (negotiable depending on experience)
- Length of Contract: 3 months initially, with strong potential for extension
- Working Pattern: Full-time, 36 hours
- Location: London
- Hybrid Working: 1 day per week in-office
Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join a supportive legal team delivering employment law advice and representation to a range of public sector clients. Likely responsibilities include:
Advising on internal HR processes and policies including disciplinary, grievance and performance matters
Handling employment litigation including Employment Tribunal claims from pre-action through to hearing
Drafting and reviewing settlement agreements, contracts, and other employment-related documentation
Supporting clients through organisational change, redundancy, and TUPE processes
Advising on complex employee relations matters, including whistleblowing and discrimination
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrable post-qualified experience in employment law, ideally advising local authorities or public sector organisations
Strong understanding of public sector governance and equalities obligations
Experience managing complex or politically sensitive employment matters
Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload
