Locum Commercial Team Leader/Solicitor – Remote  – Initial 3-6 months – Up to £80 per hour (umbrella) – Midlands  
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are seeking an experienced Commercial Team Lead to join a well-regarded Local Authority on a locum basis.
 
The Role:
Position: Locum Commercial Team Leader/Solicitor
Rate: Up to £80 per hour (Umbrella)
Duration: Initial 3-6 months with the possibility for extension
Location: Remote – working in the office would be desirable but not essential  
Hours: Full Time
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee matters relating to Procurement, Waste Contracts, Construction, Partnership agreements, and Shared Service Agreements
• Providing strategic legal guidance on Commercial matters
• Negotiate and drafting high-level commercial agreements
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the Council alongside external partners
• Manage colleagues and junior staff members – Up to 12 people

 
About you:

• Managerial experience is essential
• A highly experienced Principal Commercial Lawyer
• Experience in Local Government or public sector work is highly desirable
