Job Description:

Contracts & Procurement Solicitor – Fully Remote – South East Local Authority – Above Market Rate

We are working with a well-regarded local authority in the South East that is seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Solicitor to join their legal team on a fully remote basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a public sector contracts lawyer looking for flexibility, strong team support, and a highly competitive hourly rate.

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and support across a range of commercial, contracts, and procurement matters. The work is varied, interesting, and often high-value, covering areas such as public contracts, framework agreements, grant funding, construction, and collaboration agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and procurement issues

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements

  • Ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations

  • Supporting colleagues across departments on legal and risk management issues

  • Working independently while being part of a supportive and collaborative legal team

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX

  • Strong experience in contracts and procurement law, ideally within a local government setting

  • Excellent drafting and advisory skills

  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision

  • Confident working remotely and using digital case management systems

Details:

  • Location: Fully remote (occasional site visit optional, not required)

  • Hourly Rate: Above market rate (DOE)

  • Hours: Full-time or part-time considered

  • Duration: Initial 3-6 months with likely extension
