Job Description:
Public Rights of Way Solicitor - x2 Required
Preston, Lancashire
3-6 month contract initially
Hourly rate: Negotiable
2 Solicitors who must specialise in Public Rights of Way work
Fully remote role.
Can be hybrid if local to Preston (County Hall)
Hours per week are 37
To undertake legal casework relating to Public Rights of Way.
Core tasks
To provide legal advice and have conduct of a caseload of Public Rights of Way matters to be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.
To include reviewing documentaion, drafting of statement of reasons, interviewing users and preparing witness statements and comments on objections.
Liasing with Paralegals and Senior lawyers as required.
Such other duties and responsibilities of a similar grade and nature as required.
Person Specification
Experience of working in a local government legal environment using up to date and authorative knowledge to support delivery of services.
Experience of working to deadlines and managing own caseload.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing to both internal and external parties.
Strong analytical and research skills with ability to apply such to ensure service area objectives are achieved.
Ability to work under pressure and organise a range of complex activities and priorities.
Knowledge of Public Rights of Way Law
