Rate: £60 - 70 per hour

About the Principal Planning / Property Lawyer Role:

A popular Local Authority in the South East is seeking an experienced Principal Lawyer to join their growing and supportive team. The role is advertised on a locum basis with the view to a permanent contract thereafter. This particular post is to work as a principal property / planning lawyer remotely; but for the occasional planning committee meeting.

Key Responsibilities of the Principal Planning / Property Lawyer role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Planning or property Lawyer to join a supportive team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing line management responsibilities and working solely on more complex work. The team consists of 2 lawyers, a planning lawyer and a property lawyer and 2 legal assistants.

The Principal Planning / Property Lawyer would ideally have the following characteristics;

  • Manage your own caseload of the more complex and high profile matters
  • Support, manage and develop the planning lawyers within the team should you wish to develop your management skills and understand in either property or planning law

Local authority experience is preferable and public sector candidates with strong planning or property law experience are encouraged to apply.
