Work closely with the Principal Lawyer and Service Lead to provide a customer focussed, high performing and proactive commercial legal service.
• Provide legal support required by means of:
• Drafting high value/risk and complex commercial contract documentation for (but not restricted) complex goods and services procurements, projects, schemes, consultancies, framework agreements and funding and loan arrangements;
• Providing advice and assistance in relation to contract disputes and dispute resolution ensuring the Combined Authority’s position is protected at all times and risks minimised;
• Advising on the implementation and interpretation of Public Procurement Regulations, the organisation’s standing orders, tender procedure and all other relevant statutory legislation to ensure legal compliance at all times;
• Working closely with the Combined Authority’s Commercial Service and external procurement agencies, advising on the commercial aspects of all procurements;
• Providing legal advice in relation to Combined Authority projects and programmes;
• Providing legal advice and assistance in relation to Combined Authority procurements and liaising with the other parts of the Legal Commercial Service and the Combined Authority’s Policing & Crime team and Commercial function as appropriate to provide an integrated legal service.
