Venn Group’s public sector legal team are working with a South East based Local Authority in their search for a Childcare Advocate to cover maternity leave.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified barrister or Qualified Solicitor/CILEx advocate who has an excellent working knowledge of the key public child protection legislation, statutory and non-statutory guidance and relevant case law. As well as having experience of conducting advocacy in all tiers of the Family Court.
 
Duties shall include:

1. To conduct Advocacy in the Family Court to the children’s social care teams, which will cover all aspects of child protection law
2. To advise the local authority on evidential and legal matters
3. To identify strengths and weaknesses in a case and advise the clients accordingly
4. General drafting including case summaries, skeleton arguments,  position statements, threshold and draft case management orders as required 
5. Build strong and positive relationships with clients
