Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer – Predominantly Remote Working – up to £45 per hour – Midlands
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer to join an excellent Public Sector Organisation in the Midlands. 
 
This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months with a strong likelihood of extension thereafter. The ideal candidate would work full time on a predominately remote working basis with occasional office required a few times over three months and IT equipment to be collected on the first day.
 
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of Housing Litigation and Disrepair matters to deal with a varied caseload.
 
Duties may include:
• Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair 
• Manage Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation
• Have conduct of Section 82 Environmental Protection Act 1990 cases
• Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
• Advise on the management of risk on complex and contentious legal issues 
• Represent the Council in court and Conduct advocacy where appropriate 
• Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive agreements and documents in the area of Housing Disrepair and provide clear case strategy on cases
• Assess evidence in relation to Housing disrepair matters and determine the likely prospects of success and the public interest in prosecuting matters
• Attending meetings 1-2 times over the three months period
 
An attractive hourly rate of up to £45 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependent on experience. 
 
This is a great position for those looking to gain experience of working in the Public Sector as previous experience is desirable but not essential.
