Position: Housing Lawyer
Organisation: London based Local Authority
Duration: 2-3 months with possible extension
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working- one day a week office attendance
Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)

Venn Group’s legal team are in partnership with a  London based Local Authority in their search for a Locum Housing Lawyer.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who has a proven track record of successfully managing Housing Litigation cases within a local government setting and who is driven to deliver results.

Duties shall include:

1. To undertake a caseload of housing and general litigation, which includes providing legal advice on all aspects of law, including anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder, housing and nuisance law
2. To negotiate, draft and agree legal documentation arising out of the exercise of the councils litigation and housing functions
3. To act as an advocate on behalf of the council, where appropriate in relevant courts, tribunals and inquires
4. Instruct Counsel to represent the council where necessary
5. To prepare and present briefing papers and reports for the Senior Litigation Lawyer
