London based Local Authority in their search for a
Locum Housing Lawyer. The ideal candidate for this role will be either a
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who has a proven track record of successfully managing Housing Litigation cases within a local government setting and who is driven to deliver results.
Duties shall include:
- To undertake a caseload of housing and general litigation, which includes providing legal advice on all aspects of law, including anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder, housing and nuisance law
- To negotiate, draft and agree legal documentation arising out of the exercise of the councils litigation and housing functions
- To act as an advocate on behalf of the council, where appropriate in relevant courts, tribunals and inquires
- Instruct Counsel to represent the council where necessary
- To prepare and present briefing papers and reports for the Senior Litigation Lawyer
