Job Description:

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting to a fantastic opportunity within a well-respected London Council for a Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer. The assignment will begin on a 3 month contract, but will be extended on a rolling basis.

Our client is looking for a Contracts & Procurement Lawyer with hands on experience working within the Public Sector, ideally within a Local Authority. This would be suited to a qualified Solicitor or Barrister.

The ideal candidate will have experience of Construction, including, but not limited to:

  • JCT and NEC Contracts
  • Advising on construction with good IT skills and experience of using JCT construction software
  • Provide legal advice and assistance on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection and Competition Law
  • Provide advice to Council on the implementation and application of GDPR in respect of their Contracts
  • Act on behalf of the Council in respect of the procurement of various contracts including contracts for Works and Services, Concession Contracts, Waste Contracts, Building and Construction Contracts and Back to Back Agreements
  • Advise on the interpretation of Contracts and other legal documentation and responsible for carrying out complex drafting and the execution and completion of contracts

The ideal Contracts & Procurement Lawyer will have good knowledge of public procurement.

The successful Contracts & Procurement Lawyer will be joining a really friendly and supportive team. On offer is a competitive hourly rate and flexible working arrangements. They will have autonomy over their own caseload, therefore this role would be suited to a candidate with experience of the above.

Our Client is happy for the successful candidate to work on a remote basis, but a willingness to attend the office when needed, is required.
