This is a fantastic post for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or equivalent, who is wanting to grow their experience in public sector housing litigation work. Local authority experience is highly desirable, but they are open to considering other sectors with transferrable skills. You will have experience providing professional legal advice on all aspects of Housing Litigation work.

The successful housing litigation lawyer will have significant experience in Civil Litigation and at least one of the following areas:

  • Housing disrepair
  • Possessions
  • Anti Social Behaviour
  • Injunctions
  • Judicial Reveiw
  • Homelessness

The housing and litigation team is very friendly and supportive, and can offer some training where appropriate. The team and council are highly regarded and have worked on some really interesting cases.

The post will suit an ambitious team player who will be able to adapt well within the local authority. Our client is happy to consider candidates from either a public sector or private practice background. The role will involve office presence once a week and there may be the requirement to attend Court hearings in person. The Council offices are easily accessible via public transport. The role is locum initially for 3 months and is highly likely to be extended long term.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively, should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Maxine Beitler in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
