Locum Information Governance/Data Protection Officer – Full Time – Hybrid Working – 3 Month Initial Contract – Up to £40 per hour Umbrella, DOE 

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Information Governance/ Data Protection Officer to join a Local Authority in the West Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Information Governance professional to join a friendly and welcoming team.

The Role: Locum Information Governance/Data Protection Officer
Duration: Initial 3 months with potential extensions thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time, Hybrid working – once per week if possible
Rate: Up to £40 per hour Umbrella, DOE
Start: ASAP

Role Responsibilities:

• Clearing a backlog of FOI, EIR, and UK GDPR requests
• Conducting internal reviews of FOI and EIR responses
• Supporting lawful and transparent data use through the development and review of data sharing agreements and privacy notices
• Investigating data breaches, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to strengthen information governance and reduce future risk

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working within Information Governance, ideally within Local Government or the public sector
• Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI and SAR processes
• Experience advising on DPIAs, ROPA and information risk management frameworks
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice and manage a varied workload independently
