Job Description:

£41,771 - £45,091 per annum

The Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Officer to specialise in non-contentious law to work within its Legal and Democratic Services section.

You must be an admitted Solicitor or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or working toward qualification. 

You should have sound knowledge and experience of dealing with property, contract and planning matters. 

You will be required to provide high level legal advice to both Officers and Elected Members. 

The post holder will be required to undertake conveyancing transactions and provide advice on property related matters as well as provide advice with regards to contracts, including drafting and amending commercial and other contracts. 
The post holder will also be required to provide advice on planning matters, including drafting s106s agreements. 

The post holder will also be required to attend meetings of the Council’s Planning Committee and Licensing and Appeal Sub-Committee, when necessary. 

This post is politically restricted.
