Job Description:

£42,839 - £46,142 per annum, plus a £5,000 welcome payment

We’re looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX professional to join our unique legal team, where your work will help protect one of the UK’s most treasured landscapes.

In this role, you’ll lead procurement and contract matters, providing clear, practical legal advice while supporting conservation, landscape recovery projects, and asset management across the Park. You’ll work closely with passionate, forward-thinking colleagues dedicated to preserving and protecting our National Park.

What we’re looking for:
  • Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX Practitioner or Chartered Legal Executive entitled to practice in England and Wales and hold and maintain a current Practising Certificate
  • Strong experience in procurement and contract law
  • Clear, solutions-focused legal advice skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail
We have a positive and supportive culture within our legal team, sharing knowledge and best practices regularly. We are a true team, with the collective ambition of continuous improvement to provide an exemplary legal service to the Authority. Everyone is encouraged to share creative and innovative ideas to improve our team and the delivery of our legal service. We are committed to ensuring the team is provided with opportunities for training and continuous improvement.

You'll be working with lots of exciting and groundbreaking project teams; here is what our Moors for the Future Partnership Manager, Matt Scott-Campbell, has to say.

“The Moors for the Future Partnership delivers an internationally significant programme of nature recovery projects in the face of the dual crisis of climate change and biodiversity loss. Our forward programme to 2030 will see £30m of nature finance investment into the landscape, working with multiple partners, investors and stakeholders. Our award-winning programme continually blends ambition with innovation and sector-leading best practice to meet our vision of a sustainable and resilient upland landscape. The role of Commercial Lawyer is a key enabler for our aspirations, assisting the team with project governance and procurement arrangements and offers you the opportunity to use your legal and commercial expertise to help us make a real difference to the upland landscape of the Peak District and South Pennines.”

If you have any questions about the role, please contact Angela Edwards. No agencies at this time please.

This post is open to job share for those seeking a part-time role.
