Job Description:

£66,582 - £77,368 per annum pro rata

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Court of Protection and Inquest Lawyer to join our specialist Legal Services team.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Legal Services, this is a unique, high-profile and varied post offering a significant degree of autonomy, reflecting the statutory and professional responsibilities of the role.

The successful candidate will provide specialist legal advice across a complex and sensitive caseload, primarily within Court of Protection and Coronial/Inquest proceedings. The role requires strong analytical ability, sound judgement, and confidence in managing highly contentious and often emotive matters.

You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality in-house legal service, building strong relationships across clinical, managerial and executive teams.

The post holder will be a fully qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (minimum 2 years PQE), with rights of audience to represent the Trust in Coronial proceedings and a current practising certificate.

Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to convey complex legal and clinical issues clearly to a range of stakeholders.

While experience in Adult Social Care law is essential, NHS experience is not required. More important is a commitment to delivering an excellent public sector legal service, alongside a proactive approach to service development and professional growth.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, specialist and supportive legal team within a wider integrated care organisation committed to collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
