You need to be comfortable taking significant individual responsibility for the quality and timeliness of you and your panel’s work, which must be delivered to statutory deadlines. You also have the ability and experience to help, over time, to mentor and to train other Inspectors.

If appointed, we will train you in the specific legislation and processes required and prepare you for a formal assessment of your readiness for deployment where this applies.   This work will provide intellectual challenge whilst working as a team with a wide range of other experienced professionals. You will make substantial contributions to resolving the big challenges we face, such as delivering the Government's ambitions for building new homes and providing energy security.

Inspectors work from home, some full-time and others part-time, at a range of full time equivalent (FTE). They deal with a huge range of work, for which they can carry significant individual responsibility. Even so, there is considerable flexibility around where, when, and how the work is delivered. This means that when working from home, outside of hearing events, you can go for a walk or a bike ride, meet a friend or attend a school event during the day so long as, ultimately, your work is completed to the relevant quality standards and deadlines.
