£77,741 - £85,556 per annumJob summary At this level, you will have the ability to be the lead member of panels fellow inspectors, supporting and challenging them as required. Your strong interpersonal skills will be fundamental as you lead and direct, often large and high-profile, public casework events sensitively but with authority. You need to have significant experience of leading complex projects, of guiding other people and of working effectively in leading a team. In addition, you will need to be able to work effectively with a wider multi-disciplinary team of professional support staff. You need to be comfortable taking significant individual responsibility for the quality and timeliness of you and your panel’s work, which must be delivered to statutory deadlines. You also have the ability and experience to help, over time, to mentor and to train other Inspectors. Inspectors work from home, some full-time and others part-time, at a range of full time equivalent (FTE). They deal with a huge range of work, for which they can carry significant individual responsibility. Even so, there is considerable flexibility around where, when, and how the work is delivered. This means that when working from home, outside of hearing events, you can go for a walk or a bike ride, meet a friend or attend a school event during the day so long as, ultimately, your work is completed to the relevant quality standards and deadlines.
