Salary: £48,423 - £52,310 per annum

The opportunity

Are you an expert in public childcare law? Come and join us and help make a difference to lives of our residents within West Sussex.

Operating largely autonomously, you'll be one of the advocates for Care Proceedings and other high-profile civil proceedings connected to them, on behalf of WSCC. This challenging yet rewarding role involves working on significant cases in terms of the protection of children at risk of serious harm.

Being delivery focused, you'll have an understanding of public child care law and current practice, procedure and case law relating to public law proceedings. You will be a solicitor or barrister with post qualification practice along with experience in advocacy, ideally in the family courts. You will be working with a team of dedicated lawyers working in a busy environment.

Your employer will be West Sussex County Council, but as part of Orbis Public Law, there will also be the opportunity to work with Brighton & Hove City Council and East Sussex County Council.
