For this role: We have an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join our Legal team.  You will be mostly office based at Forde House within Teignbridge District Council.  There may be some business travel around the district as required.

What you'll be doing: You will undertake land transactions and provide legal advice and assistance to client departments in relation to property matters involving the Council.

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will need:

•    A minimum legal qualification in the form of a law degree or degree and Common Professional Exams or CILEx level 6, preferably including the land law and landlord and tenant law subjects and the conveyancing practice course.   It is also desirable that the post holder has experience of undertaking property matters within a local authority, in-house company or firm of solicitors.
•    Good legal research and drafting skills
•    Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to explain legal matters to client departments.
