Job Description:

£37,892 to £41,408 per annum

We are looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor or Barrister for our busy and dynamic legal team.

The successful candidate will join the Legal Services team where they will provide legal advice, conduct case work and advocacy relating to Public Child Law.

The applicant must have excellent knowledge and experience of children’s social care law and practice, having previously handled a full and varied caseload. A friendly and helpful approach along with good communication skills is key to maintaining high quality client care.

Essential requirements include:

- Proven experience of public law Child proceedings, Children’s safeguarding, social care and support;

- An ability to carry a substantial workload and meet deadlines and to work on your own initiative;

- A good knowledge of recent and forthcoming changes in this fast changing area of law;

- An understanding of the public sector ethos.

Experience in the following areas would also be desirable:

- Children’s social care advocacy;

- Adult safeguarding;

- Mental capacity, deprivation of liberty and the court of protection;

- Judicial review proceedings;

- Mental health.
