Salary: £52,187 - £58,587 pa

We are looking for an outstanding person to join our team at Tandridge to act as the Council's key adviser. You will take the lead in formulating Legal policy, service and performance improvement as well as contribute to the overall strategy of the Council.

You will be accountable in your role as the Monitoring Officer for the Council and provide legal advice and support to the Returning Officer in support of elections.  We will expect you to set the constitution and governance of the Council, ensuring that the Council is efficient, transparent and accountable to local people.

As an organisation we are undergoing an ambitious transformation project, changing the way we work and using the best technology to deliver services in a way our customers find easy to use and convenient. We are looking for the right candidate to join our team and continue to drive this vision forward.  Working at the core of our organisation, with and across all areas, you’ll be proactive, innovative and bold.

We work in a friendly, flexible and collaborative environment. Just 35 minutes from central London by train, our office in Oxted, east Surrey has excellent transport links, with easy access to the M25 and M23. Although close to London the district also boasts leafy villages and commuter towns and has a vibrant café and restaurant culture.

Our very attractive remuneration/work package includes Local Government Pension Scheme, Bupa Cashplan and flexible and agile working.
