£21,962 - £24,964

A vacancy has arisen for a Legal Officer to work within our busy Education, Litigation, Insurance and Employment team.

The post holders’ primary tasks will be to:

1) Support Education colleagues delivering a service to internal clients as well as schools and academies by:
  • Undertaking legal research on a wide range of education and other legal issues (the candidate will need to excel in this skill)
  • Interpreting legislation/case law and applying it in a thoughtful and pragmatic manner
  • Providing advice to clients which includes senior school leaders
  • Drafting various letters, agreements and documents
  • Supporting our clients on Tribunal cases by reviewing and preparing relevant documents and bundles
  • Managing a small case load as well as undertaking various legal or case-related tasks on behalf of more senior colleagues

2) Provide some support to Litigation collegues by:
  • Undertaking legal and other research
  • Preparing and processing documentation for court/tribunal including bundles, applications, case and witness statements
  • Undertaking such other case-related tasks as may be require
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and able to prioritise a varied workload. Self-organisation skills and an eye for detail will also be important.
